Chatham-Kent is on the hunt for a new Chief Administrative Officer.

A job posting says the municipality is looking for an inspiring, principled, and collaborative leader with a proven track record of results and accomplishments.

Reporting to the mayor and council, the CAO is responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of the municipality’s administrative and operational services.

Don Shropshire has held the post since 2012 and announced his impending retirement to council back in the spring.

The job posting closes September 29th.

Shropshire says they hope to have a decision by late fall and he should be able to pass the torch by the end of the year.
