Chatham-Kent councillors are being asked to renew an agreement with the municipality’s electricity provider to ensure local streetlights are maintained for the next several years.
During a meeting on Monday, CK administration will recommend that council authorize a new six-year agreement with Entegrus Powerlines Inc. for the maintenance of the municipality’s street lighting infrastructure.
Chatham-Kent and Entegrus have had service-level agreements in place for streetlight maintenance since the company’s formation. The most recent agreement for 2021-2024 has expired.
The new proposed contract is similar to previous agreements and includes a three per cent annual increase in labour and equipment fees. Funding for the agreement will come from the Public Works
operational budget and an infrastructure reserve.
If passed by council, administration will reach out to Entegrus to finalize the new agreement.
