Violence at a local housing facility has led to the arrest of a Chatham-Kent man.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the housing facility in Chatham shortly before 10:30 p.m. last Thursday after a 52-year-old woman was assaulted. Authorities said the woman lost her balance, fell to the ground, and her attacker attempted to choke her.
The woman was able to break free and leave the scene. She suffered minor injuries that required medical treatment.
A 42-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located later that day and arrested. He is now charged with assault causing bodily harm and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
