A local man has been arrested after a violent confrontation over the weekend.
Officers with Chatham-Kent Police responded to a Grand Avenue West property shortly before 8 o’clock Saturday morning.
Authorities say the accused had been asked to leave, but refused. As he was being escorted from the premises by security, the suspect allegedly became argumentative and pulled a knife.
Security de-escalated the situation and the man threw the knife to the floor.
The 52-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
