Chatham-Kent has lost another resident to COVID-19, the fifth death related to the virus just this week.

A man in his 40s passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Wednesday night. A total of 39 local residents have now lost their lives to the virus since the pandemic began.

CKHA officials said there are currently 31 COVID patients being treated in hospital, 16 of whom were admitted to be treated for the virus. Two COVID patients are being cared for in the ICU and one is being treated in the progressive care unit.
