The Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team is making it easier for local residents to access their medical records.
A new online patient portal, ConnectMyHealth, gives the public access to their personal health records across multiple participating hospitals in southwestern Ontario, including Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Four Counties Health Services, and hospitals in Sarnia, Windsor-Essex, and London, among others.
The site is free, open to anyone aged sixteen and older, and can be accessed from a desktop computer, laptop or mobile device without the need to download a separate app.
Officials with the OHT say ConnectMyHealth provides access to lab results; diagnostic tests including x-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds; and a list of hospital visits.
“I recently had to have some follow-up testing done at a hospital out of town,” said Kathy Borthwick, Chair of CKOHT’s Patient and Family Advisory Council in a news release. “I had the tests done, and then received an email the next day that the results were ready to view in ConnectMyHealth. Early access to the reports helped me prepare for the follow-up appointment so that I could better participate in the discussion with the doctor.”
The site sends email notifications when new results are ready to be viewed, and provides printable health records to easily bring to appointments and for personal record keeping.
