A multi-jurisdictional, cross-border police investigation has led to 19 arrests, over 100 charges, and more than $139 million in drugs seized.
The Windsor Police Service began the drug trafficking investigation in January 2025 and, over the months, began collaborating with the Canada Border Services Agency and the Ontario Provincial Police as the investigation revealed a cross-border trafficking network within the commercial transportation sector.
Police officials said the network leveraged established connections to move illegal drugs across the border with the use of drivers who knowingly transported the illicit substances within legitimate supply chains.
Between June 25, 2026 and July 20, 2026, officers with several police services, including the Chatham-Kent Police Service Emergency Response Team, executed 22 search warrants in Windsor, Corunna, LaSalle, Brampton, Kleinburg, Markham, and Caledon.
As a result, nearly 1.7 tonnes of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and opium were seized, along with 17 firearms, including an anti-tank rifle. Cash, cell phones, laptops, and prohibited weapons, among other items, were also seized.
Police have arrested 19 people who now face a combined 102 charges in connection with the investigation. Two suspects remain outstanding, and warrants have been issued for their arrest.
Authorities said the investigation into the source and full scope of the trafficking network remains ongoing.
