CK Police Get a Little Help From Their Friends

A North Bay man is facing charges following an incident in Chatham over a decade ago.

Chatham-Kent Police responded to an assault complaint on Pearl Crescent in November, 2012.

Authorities identified a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

This Thursday, police received a call from authorities in North Bay saying they had the accused in custody.

The 37-year-old man has since been charged with assault. He was released by North Bay Police with conditions and a future court date.

Meantime, inter-jurisdictional co-operation led to another arrest for Chatham-Kent Police.

Back in April, 2018, officers responded to the carpool area on Kent Bridge Road and found an abandoned car still running. Investigators discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen from Hamilton the day before. DNA evidence helped police identify a suspect and a warrant was issued for a man’s arrest.

Police received a call from authorities in Strathroy-Caradoc on Thursday, advising they had the man in custody.

The 25-year-old Munsee-Delaware man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5000. He was released by the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service with conditions and a future court date.
