CK Police To Utilize New Bail Monitoring System

Police in Chatham-Kent will soon be keeping an even closer eye on individuals who are out on bail.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has announced that it will be utilizing the new Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard (PBCD), which is designed to enhance the monitoring and enforcement of bail conditions for individuals charged with firearms offences.

The dashboard will provide front-line officers with real-time access to critical data on individuals released from custody, including conditions of release, photographs, addresses, and mapping data. The electronic tool, which is part of a $112 million investment by the Ontario government, will also enhance communication between police services in various jurisdictions across the province.

CK police officers are currently being trained to use the new dashboard, which is expected to be fully operational by the summer.
