Chatham-Kent residents passionate about health care in the community are being encouraged to volunteer.

Chatham-Kent Public Health is seeking new volunteer citizen appointees to serve on the Board of Health for the next four years.

The new term would begin on January 1, 2025 and would provide successful applications with the chance to make a difference in the community.

“Being a member of the Board of Health offers a rewarding experience where volunteers can contribute their expertise, have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals, engage in strategic decision-making, and drive positive change in the community,” public health officials said in a news release.

Those interested in applying must be over the age of 18 and either own or be a tenant of property in Chatham-Kent. Applications can be filled out online or by obtaining one from a municipal service centre. Applications are due by August 8 at 4:30 p.m.
