The United Way of Chatham-Kent has been given the green light to educate municipal employees about their support services.
Wallaceburg councillor Carmen McGregor brought forward a motion to allow United Way Campaign representatives access to municipal staff to provide education and materials about their work in the community.
Her motion passed unanimously.
“I’ll look forward to a report to see how we can change things in the future,” McGregor says. “It was kind of rammed in pretty quick this year to allow that campaign to come through and certainly not the way staff would like and not the way the United Way would like to see it happen, but at least I know it’s going to be there.”
Employees will be given the option to contribute to the campaign through payroll deduction.
