CK Student Nutrition Program Receives $5,000

The Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program is getting a boost.

Program Coordinator Alan Davies says it’s a huge help.

“We were presented with a cheque from Desjardins Building Better Things Community Grant. Scott Stanley, one of our local agents in Chatham, nominated our program to the Desjardins Group,” Davies says. “We were selected and received a cheque today for $5,000 for our program. The money will go directly to purchasing food for all of our programs. We have nutrition programs in all of our schools in Chatham-Kent except one this year. That includes the public board, and both Catholic English and French Catholic Boards.”

The program is run by 450 volunteers who work to provide nutritious meals for over 8000 children and youth in Chatham-Kent.
