A pair of local students who are preparing for post-secondary school in the fall are getting a helping hand from a local service club.
The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent Scholarship Committee has selected Emma Raspburg and Riley Malott to each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Raspburg is graduating from Ursuline College Chatham and will attend the University of Guelph’s Bachelor of Science and Agriculture Program, majoring in Animal Science, with the goal of becoming a Veterinarian.
Malott is graduating from Lambton Kent Composite School in Dresden and will attend Brock University’s Bachelor’s and Master’s Public Health Co-op Program with the goal of becoming an Epidemiologist.
The committee said the pair impressed club members with presentations about themselves and their postsecondary and career aspirations at a club meeting. They also exceeded expectations for the selection criteria.
