Chatham-Kent will celebrate cultural diversity and inclusivity as part of its third annual Welcome Week.
From September 8-17, the Chatham-Kent Local Immigration Partnership will be hosting several events to celebrate newcomers to the municipality and help them feel at home.
CK Welcome Week will kick off with the Building Culture, Community and Connections event and flag-raising at the Civic Centre on Friday at 3 p.m. The event will include a tour of the Civic Centre and a presentation in Council Chambers about getting involved in civic engagement. A community showcase of local services and cultural community associations will also be hosted in front of the Civic Centre.
All local residents are invited to take part in the activities across CK.
The Chatham-Kent Local Immigration Partnership is made up of 39 community organizations and stakeholders that develop and support the implementation of local settlement strategies.
