As the provincial government lifts pandemic restrictions, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is encouraging organizers to apply for special event permits.

Now that events are no longer hindered by pandemic-related cancellations or restrictions, Chatham-Kent is hosting three public information meetings on how to apply for a special event permit.

The public information meetings will be held on March 29, 30 and 31.

At the meetings, organizers will be able to meet with staff, obtain paper copies of the special event application and learn where they can find electronic versions. The municipality will also provide a presentation on the application process, followed by a question and answer session.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the municipality would review an average of 210 special event applications a year.

The dates and locations for the public information meetings are listed below:

  • March 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Thames Campus Arena in the Red Line Room.
  • March 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Blenheim Arena in the Blue Line Room.
  • March 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Wallaceburg, Memorial Area in the Jack Backus Mezzanine Room.
