A recent lottery contest has helped to distribute more than $1 million to United Way chapters across the province, including the one in Chatham-Kent.
As part of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG) 50th anniversary, the Crown corporation held the WINTARIO Community Contest from June 24 to August 18. Players who purchased a lottery ticket could enter for a chance to win a personal prize, and also nominate a United Way chapter for a chance for it to win a donation.
Thanks to “enthusiastic participation” across Ontario, OLG has awarded all 26 United Way chapters, including United Way Windsor-Essex Chatham-Kent, which received $50,000 as part of the contest.
Each United Way was awarded a prize ranging from $250,000 to $5,000.
