
The race is on to determine who will form Canada’s next government.
A federal election campaign was triggered on Sunday after Prime Minister Mark Carney asked the Governor General to dissolve parliament, setting an election date for Monday, April 28.
With updated riding boundaries, all Chatham-Kent residents will be voting for the same slate of candidates. The new electoral district includes the municipalities of Chatham-Kent and Leamington, Township of Pelee, and Moraviantown First Nation. Walpole Island residents will vote in the new riding of Sarnia-Lambton-Bkejwanong.
According to Elections Canada, there are no candidates who have been officially confirmed in the electoral district at this point, although some signs for Conservative Dave Epp have already started popping up around the area.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, April 7th.
