A pair of local high school graduates have some extra cash in their bank account as they head to university in the fall.
The Chatham-Kent Arts and Culture Network (CKACN) has announced the winners of its inaugural Emerging Youth Artist Scholarship.
The 2024 recipients are Teryn Romanick, who graduated from Ursuline College this spring, and has been accepted to Western University Fine Arts program, and Chatham-Kent Secondary School grad Martin Thomas, who is heading to the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD University) in Toronto for the Material Art and Design Program.
Both winners will receive $1000 against their tuition costs, provided by the Arts and Culture Network.
The pair will be recognized during the organization’s Arts and Culture Heroes event, being held in October.
