CKHA Celebrating Doctors Day

doctorsdayOfficials with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance are saying thanks to physicians.

CEO Lori Marshall says they’re celebrating in both Chatham and Wallaceburg today.

“Today is an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our doctors. We have distributed some refreshments for them at both of our sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg and it’s just a little token for us to say thanks”, says Marhsall.

“It’s also so important for us to use our social media and every kind of venue that we have to say thank you to our doctors”, explains Marshall. Doctors Day’s hashtag is #LoveMyMD, and Marshall encourages everyone to use it today in celebration of physicians.

She says kids can join in, too.

“I’ve been on the [Doctors Day] website today and there are lots of ways that people are saying ‘thank you’. In particular, the Ontario Medical Association distributed out a number of colouring sheets this year so children can say thanks to their doctors. So if you go onto their website, you’ll see lots of pictures from kids”, Marshall says.

The colouring sheets can be found here.

There are 29,000 practicing doctors on Ontario, with about 185 working within the Health Alliance in both Wallaceburg and Chatham.
