CKHA COVID Outbreak Declared Over

An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is now over.

There have been seven total cases since the outbreak was declared on February 11th.

There are now 19 patients with COVID at the Health Alliance, five of whom are being treated primarily for the virus. Two COVID patients are in the ICU, however hospital officials say neither was admitted because of the virus.

Across Chatham-Kent, Public Health is reporting 55 new cases since the last update on Wednesday with a seven-day average of 17 cases a day.

A new outbreak has been declared with 11 linked cases at Maple City Retirement Residence in Chatham. Public Health staff continue to keep an eye on outbreaks at a group home and the Meadows of Wheatley retirement residence.

Across Ontario, 35 more people have died from COVID-19. There are 1003 people with COVID in hospitals province-wide, 297 of whom are in intensive care.
