CKHA Easing Visitor Restrictions

As COVID concerns across Chatham-Kent begin to ease somewhat, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is relaxing its visitor restrictions.

Starting Thursday, February 10th, the hospital will move back into what it refers to as Phase 3 Green, meaning most inpatients will be allowed two consistent essential care partners, one at a time.

Officials say the decision is based on a number of indicators, including decreasing cases in the community, improving capacity in the hospital, availability of PPE, and improving staffing levels.

Visitors and care partners at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites are still required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within three days of the visit, with limited exceptions.

Care partners will have to pass a COVID screening when they come to the hospital and wear a medical grade mask at all times during their visit.

Full details of CKHA’s Visitors and Care Partner Access During COVID-19 Policy can be found on the hospital’s website (www.ckha.on.ca) or by calling CKHA’s Patient Family Communications Liaisons for specific information when visiting a patient at 519.352.6400, ext. 6917.
