The recent Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Igniting HealthCare 50/50 FUNdraiser raised a total of $345,740.
Emily Geroux of Highgate had this year’s lucky winning ticket #1107940 for the record-setting raffle draw.
Geroux says she checked her ticket the morning after the draw once she noticed a winner had not yet been announced.
“I realized I had the number and I just said I WON! I WON! I WON!”
The CKHA Foundation says the community responded in astounding fashion in the midst of the pandemic. The total raised eclipsed last year’s numbers, despite the fact that many events and activities were cancelled, limiting opportunities to sell physical tickets.
More than three-quarters of tickets were purchased online.
Half of the money raised – $172,870 will support the purchase of a C-Arm for CKHA’s new Urology services. A C-Arm is a specialized diagnostic imaging machine that uses x-ray technology.
The CKHA Foundation thanks local residents for their continued support and generosity.
