The Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has launched a local COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Foundation President and CEO Mary Lou Crowley says the relief fund will help support the urgent and highest priority needs of the CKHA in the fight against COVID-19.
“Funds raised will be used to support our front-line healthcare professionals, as well as to purchase critical equipment to enhance our ability to diagnose and treat patients during this difficult time and beyond,” adds Crowley.
The effort is off to a great start, raising more than $8,000 since last Monday night.
The foundation also received the generous anonymous donation of six new iPads, allowing patients to connect with loved ones outside of the hospital.
Crowley says this eases stress of patients during the current visitor restrictions at CKHA.
