A fundraising campaign aimed at bringing updated new medical imaging technology to Chatham-Kent’s hospital has been hailed a success.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) has announced that it has raised $584,210 thanks to donations from individuals and organizations to fund the purchase of a $1 million Fluoroscopy machine. The foundation said the remaining balance will be covered through CKHAF’s Highest Priority Needs fund.
The fundraising campaign kicked off on December 3, 2024 through the Foundation’s Giving Tuesday initiative. Additional proceeds from the Foundation’s Igniting Healthcare Holiday 50/50 were also earmarked for the purchase of the viral imaging equipment.
A Fluoroscopy machine provides real-time, moving X-ray images, essential for diagnosing illnesses, guiding medical procedures, and ensuring accurate treatment plans. It is used to assist in everything from stroke and cancer diagnosis to gastrointestinal, orthopedic and vascular procedures.
