CKHA Foundations Merging Into One Body

Some changes are coming to the fundraising arm of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The volunteer boards of the Public General Hospital Foundation, Sydenham District Hospital Foundation, and Foundation of CKHA are joining forces.

President and CEO Mary Lou Crowley says it was the natural progression, given the new joint focus of the hospitals in Chatham and Wallaceburg.

“As the CKHA had done an amalgamation in 2017 and 2018, and with the three Foundations, it was the next step to bring them all together to form one body, and with that new foundation, we are now called the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation,” explains Crowley.

Along with the office on Ursuline Avenue in Chatham, the Foundation will now have satellite locations in both the Wallaceburg and Chatham hospitals.

“With the new office [in Wallaceburg], we’ve already had a number of meetings in that hospital. And with the recent announcement just weeks ago about the $500,000 investment, I think it makes sense for the Foundation to be there, to be present, and to be there raising awareness and building strong relationships with everyone in Wallaceburg,” Crowley says.
