CKHA Goes Smoke Free

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will be ringing in the New Year by going 100% smoke-free.

Through new provincial regulation, smoking will no longer be permitted anywhere on hospital property – including designated smoking areas.

CKHA officials say as of January 1st, all smoking areas, including sheltered ones, will be removed.

They say that the new legislation will protect all patients, staff, and visitors form the hazards of second-hand smoke.
