CKHA Hires New Anesthesiologist, Pediatrician

Chatham-Kent’s hospital has added two new physicians to its roster of healthcare professionals.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is welcoming pediatrician Dr. Ahmad Aziz and anesthesiologist Dr. Mohamed Khattab.

Dr. Aziz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in general medicine and surgery from Al-Mustansiriyah University in Iraq and has completed the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship and Neonatal Transport and Research Fellowship programs at the University of Calgary.

He worked as a pediatrician in Jordan and Iraq for several years before moving to Canada. Dr. Aziz has also worked in Nova Scotia as a clinical associate physician and a pediatric neonatologist before being appointed as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick in Saint John.

Dr. Khattab earned a Medical Diploma from the Faculty of Medicine at Benghazi University in Libya and practiced as an anesthesiologist in Libya and South Africa from 2009 to 2023 before relocating to Canada.

He joined Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Newfoundland in 2023 and also served as a Clinical Lecturer in the Discipline of Anaesthesia at Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine.
