Chatham-Kent’s hospital has recruited three new physicians to provide care to those living in the municipality.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) said the organization has hired Dr. Rachelle Shirley as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN), Dr. Emadaldin Andisha has joined the Anesthesia Department, and Dr. Aamer Somani has joined as a Hospitalist.

Dr. Shirley has multiple degrees from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, and she has work experience in Toronto, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands.

Dr. Shirley will be completing a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at McMaster University this summer before returning to CKHA in the summer of 2026. Until then, she will be assisting the current team of specialists at CKHA to provide call coverage.

Originally from Libya, Dr. Andisha joined CKHA in late 2023. He has completed five years of clinical training as a specialist in anesthesia and intensive care.

Dr. Somani completed a Doctor of Medicine a Western University in 2020 and came to CKHA in July 2020 as a Family Medicine Resident. He is returning to CK to join the Hospitalist Program and practicing inpatient medicine.
