Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is issuing a call for artists to help enhance the outdoor spaces at both of its hospital sites.
Hospital officials are inviting artists to submit applications to create two art pieces for CKHA in Chatham and Wallaceburg. All art mediums can be submitted but the artwork must be weather-proof, durable, and safe for public display year-round.
“We believe that art has the power to heal and uplift,” said CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshall in a news release. “This is an opportunity to showcase artistic talent while enhancing the healing environment of our outdoor spaces, furthering our goal of patient family-centred care.”
CKHA is accepting submissions from any individual artist or group of artists living in Canada. All submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of CKHA leadership, patient advisors and staff.
The successful applicants will receive $10,000 for each art piece, which will be provided by CKHA and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
The deadline to apply is June 7 at 4 p.m.
