CKHA Reaching Out To Retired Health Workers

With all of the patients in the hospitals these days there is a shortfall of nurses and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is no different.

They need help now.

Lisa Northcott, the Chief Nursing Executive says they have  re deployed 40 nurses already.

They have hired 7 of 10 full time nurses who just finished their orientation at the hospital as well as 10 current nursing students.

She says they are also getting creative.

We have also reached out, we have gone back three years and reached out to retirees. We have three retired nurses who have agreed to come back and work with us, and 6 other retirees who work in other job classifications like in housekeeping or other areas that have agreed to come back and work with us. We have them ready to go when the time comes that we might need them “

The CKHA will continue to add and re-deploy as needed.
