Sydenham District Hospital Board Chair Sheldon Parsons is pleased with the news, stating that he’s being advocating for the Alliance since he got word that the two Chatham boards were seeking to dissolve.

Councillor Jeff Wesley would like the three boards to work together going forward. “Sydenham District Hospital, our board, our community has always said we are open to discussions” Wesley says. “We are continuing to ask them to meet with us, we are continuing to say we’ll meet with you to discuss these things to work them out.”

Deputy Minister of Health Dr Bob Bell has requested that all parties continue to act in good faith, and to work together to explore more options that don’t involve tearing apart the alliance.
