Local police are encouraging everyone to keep safety top of mind as they ring in the new year this evening.
Authorities suggest residents plan ahead and arrange for a designated driver, or for those who won’t be consuming any alcohol or drugs, offer a safe ride home for a friend.
Meantime, a reminder of service closures with all municipal offices and Service Ontario desks closed for New Year’s Day. Public libraries will be closed tomorrow, and there will be no Ride CK transit service on Wednesday.
There will be no garbage or recycling collection tomorrow, and all pick-ups for the rest of the week will be delayed by a day.
