A slight uptick in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers with 14 new cases confirmed by public health over the weekend. Since the last update on Friday, officials have also cleared 11 cases off the books, raising the total number of active COVID cases to 39.

There are now six local residents being treated for the virus at the Health Alliance – three of those patients were admitted over the weekend and one just this morning.

According to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, there are a total of 8 COVID patients in care right now (Public Health only includes Chatham-Kent residents in its statistics) with three COVID-positive patients being treated in the ICU.

There are still two active workplace outbreaks on the books, but neither business is open to the public.

Public Health says there have now been 166 variants of concern or related mutations identified in Chatham-Kent.
