A big jump in Chatham-Kent’s covid numbers to start the week.
Public Health has confirmed eight new cases, more than doubling the number of active cases to 14.
Meantime, officials are keeping tabs Chatham-Kent’s municipally-run long term care facility. A staff member from 5-East at Riverview Gardens tested positive for the virus last week. Officials with Public Health say it’s a controlled case, and they’ve been working with staff at Riverview Gardens to keep the situation contained.
Province-wide, Ontario is reporting 119 new cases today along with three deaths linked to the virus.
