As vaccines continue to be administered to long term care residents across Chatham-Kent, the municipality’s overall COVID numbers have dipped back below 100 again.

CK Public Health is reporting 18 new infections today along with 28 recoveries, lowering the total number of active cases to 93.

There are still eight active outbreaks, including four workplaces, three long term care homes, and two congregate living settings.

Meantime, four more people have died from the virus in Windsor-Essex. The area’s health unit is also reporting 53 new infections today. There are also two new agricultural outbreaks in the region, bringing the total number of agri-farm outbreaks to 14.

Lambton County’s active caseload has dipped to 123 with six new cases and 41 recoveries. The public health unit is also reporting another death linked to the virus.

Another dip in the provincial numbers today with 1740 new cases today, the lowest increase since December. However the number of people dying from COVID-19 continues to rise with 63 more deaths reported across Ontario.
