Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers continue their downward trend.
Public Health is reporting 17 new cases today along with 20 resolved since the last update on Friday, lowering the total active caseload to 38.
That’s in stark contrast to the provincial stats with 4447 new cases today, 19 more deaths linked to the virus, and 755 people in ICUs across Ontario.
There is currently one Chatham-Kent resident being treated for COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Colby has said over 89% of positive cases in southern Ontario right now are variant cases. To date, 114 cases of variants or mutations have been discovered in Chatham-Kent.
Another school outbreak was declared on Friday with two cases linked to Blenheim District High School, while the outbreak at UCC has been declared over.
There are still just two cases associated with an outbreak at A.A. Wright Public School in Wallaceburg, and two workplace outbreaks on the books.
