Police have been working to clean up 190 Thames St. for almost two years, and it appears that the efforts combined with new ownership are paying off.

For 18 months, the Drugs and Street Crimes Section, Community Mobilization Section, Community Patrol Branch and Crime Stoppers have been working on cleaning up the complex.

Things changed when new ownership took over in September. Since then police have seized 4 prohibited weapons, executed four search warrants and laid 23 charges while arresting 15 people.

“The same is true throughout Chatham-Kent,” says Police Chief Gary Conn. “The Chatham-Kent Police Service, in conjunction with property owners and community partners, are committed to removing drugs and targeting criminal activity wherever it is happening.”
