With over two dozen families displaced by a Wallace Street apartment fire over the weekend, the community is rallying to help those in need.

25 families are currently staying at the Days Inn while the investigation into Sunday’s blaze continues.

Virginia Whitmarsh says they need a lot of help.

“There’s quite a few children (affected,) some don’t even have any clothes at all, just what they had on their back,” Whitmarsh says. “They do need food, diapers, pull-ups, water, anything anybody can donate.”

As for specific sizes, they’re looking for boys’ clothes size 2t, 3t, 3, 5, 6, 14, 18, diapers size 3-6, and pull ups size 3t.

Anyone who’d like to help can contact the Moose Lodge at 519-627-8288 or call Virginia Whitmarsh at 519-627-3563.
