College Students in Ridgetown Charged with Nuisance

Chatham-Kent Police are cracking down on rowdy college students in Ridgetown.

Last night, officers were called out to Hillsdale Avenue with a complaint about students disturbing the peace.

Two people were charged under the nuisance bylaw and another was given a warning.

Half an hour later, police got another call saying students were fighting on Main Street East. No fight was found, but officers seized some alcohol.

Police are reminding all students that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated, and that while socialization is part of student life, everyone needs to show some respect for those living in the area.
