A Wheatley man has died following a single-vehicle crash south of Merlin.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the intersection of Merlin Road and Kidd Line at around 6 a.m. Thursday morning after an eastbound vehicle left the road and crashed into a ditch.
First responders attempted life-saving measures on the driver but were unsuccessful. A 51-year-old Wheatley man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled.
Merlin Road was closed for several hours following the crash but has since been reopened.
