Over a dozen trucks have been taken off the road following a commercial vehicle safety blitz.

Chatham-Kent Police teamed up with the MTO and OPP on Thursday, conducting enforcement across the municipality.

In all, 24 vehicles were inspected, including loads, driver qualifications, and documentation. 14 vehicles were taken out of service and 21 charges were laid for various infractions.

Officials say clearly the number of issues found show more inspections need to be done to help keep everyone in Chatham-Kent safe.
