A local group is hoping to turn a backyard pastime into a community event.

ComeTogetherCK is laying the groundwork for a CK Community Corn Hole Tournament.

Executive Director Brent Wilken is calling it an opportunity for local organizations to work together to create a fun, family-friendly event.

“We’re thrilled to spark this new event to Chatham-Kent to have fun and friendly competition with our neighbours,” said Brent in a news release.  “We think this provides a prime opportunity for the community to come together and showcase CK’s spirit of collaboration and support for one another.”

The bean-bag toss tournament is set for September 10th and will be open to all ages and skill levels.

Wilken is also hoping to work together with other groups who would like to combine events, share space, planning expertise, and resources.

“This is a community celebration,” Wilken said. “Music, theatre, art, food, karaoke, games, any expression! Think of this as both your and our collective blank canvas that day. If you have an idea, reach out to us, and we’ll work together to make it happen. I’m looking forward to seeing what CK creates.”
