Community Living Chatham-Kent is helping out a local girl who has been in and out of the hospital.

Manager of Community Relations Angela Corso they’re making a $1000 donation to Ebony Vandenbogaerde.

“Ebony is a 12 year old girl with a lot of personality and a lot of spirit,” Corso says. “Back in May she was treated to remove a really rare tumour in her spin, which has unfortunately left her paralyzed from the waist down.”

For the last nine months, Emily and her family have been travelling back and forth between hospitals in London and Toronto, and has now been able to come home.

Corso says the funds were raised through Community Living Chatham-Kent’s 3rd Annual Food Crawl.

A GoFundMe page setup for Ebony for anyone who wants to help the family.
