After more than two decades, Community Living Wallaceburg will no longer assist those with disabilities find meaningful employment.

The organization has announced that it will cease its Employment Services Program as of February 29.

Community Living officials said the decision was made in response to the Ontario government’s significant changes in how it operates and funds employment support programs.

“After careful consideration, Community Living Wallaceburg has determined that it will be unable to move forward as a service provider under this new model,” the organization said in a news release.

In the meantime, Community Living said it will work to minimize service disruptions to current clients and employer partners. The agency said it will also help to refer clients to other designated service providers.

Officials are encouraging local residents who need help finding work to contact the Windsor Regional Employment Network.
