Employees at Community Living Wallaceburg have ratified a new contract with the employer.

A majority of the 188 frontline employees represented by OPSEU Local 150 recently voted in favour of the three-year collective agreement, which is retroactive to January 1, 2022 and expires on December 2024.

While further details about the new contract were not released, Community Living officials said it’s a good deal for the union and for the employer.

“This new collective agreement recognizes the important work done by our direct support professionals. It improves the working conditions of our employees and addresses the rising cost of living with the salary increases,” said Ben Hazzard, president of Community Living Wallaceburg, in a news release.
