A Chatham woman is facing drug charges after she was found slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Monday afternoon, officers received a traffic complaint about the vehicle on St. Clair Street near Walmart. Police allege the woman behind the wheel showed signs of fentanyl use.
During a search, officers seized suspected fentanyl and crystal meth.
After being cleared by paramedics, the 34-year-old woman was arrested. She was taken to police headquarters for further testing and is now charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs and possession for the purpose of trafficking. She has been released from custody with a future court date.
