A popular fundraiser is taking its next event to a local brewery in support of mental health services in Chatham-Kent.
Brews and Beats at The Barn will be held on August 17 at the Red Barn Brewing Co. in Blenheim from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Organized by Music for the Mind, the all-day concert fundraiser will feature five local bands and a DJ, along with food trucks and all of the craft beer normally offered at the brewery.
Music for The Mind founder Elisha Banks said she’s excited to partner with the brewery for the first time.
“It’s a great environment, it’s always a good time out there so we’re super excited to have the opportunity to bring our event out there this year,” she said. “It’s literally eight hours of non-stop music.”
All of the funds raised from the event will go to Family Service Kent to provide reduced minimal fees or free counselling for children and adults, as well as the KIDS Team Program to cover the cost of psychological assessments for children. Also, a portion of the proceeds will go to Chatham-Kent Victim Services for weighted blankets and gift cards to purchase food and daily hygiene products.
“We have partnered up with some very essential pillars of non-profits in our community who do amazing work every day to support those in our community who struggle with mental health in whatever capacity,” said Banks.
Tickets for the 19+ event can be purchased in advance online by clicking here or in person with cash at Red Barn on the day of the event.
