Upgrades to Wallaceburg Memorial Arena are taking another step forward.
The municipality has selected Aveiro Constructors Limited has been chosen as the contractor for the nearly $2 million dollar project.
Councillor Aaron Hall says he’s glad the feedback from the public consultations were worked into the final design.
“I know there was a public engagement forum back in the summer, there was a lot of stakeholders and user groups that were there and provided some great feedback,” Hall says. “It wasn’t just one of those items that got checked off the checklist, staff really listened to the user groups and the feedback, and implemented a lot of the suggestions.”
Some of the upgrades include the installation of an accessible washroom, an elevator to the mezzanine, expanded accessible viewing area, and the addition of three dressing rooms.
The upgrades were given the initial go-ahead back in January.
