The Convoy For Courage is rolling through Wallaceburg with the goal of lifting community spirit on Thursday night.
Jennifer Eagleson has helped organize the convoy, inspired by a similar event in Kincardine as well as a recent Canadiana movement surrounding The Tragically Hip song “Courage”.
A convoy of vehicles properly physically distanced, will make their way through Wallaceburg to show love and support to health care workers, first response and essential workers.
The key is to spread joy, courage, happiness and to also say thank you to those who have to work during this crisis,” says Eagleson. “Especially to our healthcare workers, first responders and so on. We want to show them how much we care and that we’re thankful for them.”
Those taking part are asked to include signs and banners showing their love for front-line workers and the community at large.
The gathering is set for 5:45 Thursday night in the Sobey’s parking lot. The convoy leaves at 6.
Organizers remind everyone to NOT leave their vehicle. Properly distance yourselves. And please don’t carpool.
