Damage is pegged at $10,000 following a house fire in Thamesville.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services say the home owner was in his garage when he saw smoke coming from his house, yesterday afternoon.
He realized that he had left something cooking on the stove and called 911.
Firefighters quickly doused the flames and contained the fire to the room where it started.
